Предмет. Влияние шоков Федеральной резервной системы США (ФРС) на индекс давления на валютные рынки (EMP) стран БРИКС. Цели. Оценить краткосрочные и асимметричные эффекты шоков конвенциональной политики и информационных шоков ФРС по квантилям EMP. Методология. Количественный анализ основан на панельной квантильной регрессии с фиксированными эффектами для стран БРИКС для оценки асимметричных эффектов шоков ФРС на EMP и на расчете квантильных импульсных откликов методом локальных проекций с bootstrap-интервалами. Результаты. Выявлены асимметричные эффекты по квантилям и по типу шока: статистически значимые эффекты проявляются лишь в хвостах распределения EMP (0,1 и 0,9), то есть при высокой валютной напряженности. Информационные шоки ФРС оказывают более сильное воздействие, чем шоки конвенциональной политики, а отрицательный информационный шок характеризуется менее предсказуемой динамикой. Область применения. Результаты исследования могут быть полезны для обсуждения мер макропруденциальной политики в странах БРИКС как в исследовательских, так и в регуляторных целях, включая возможность применения гибких инструментов контроля капитала, а также для более глубокого понимания валютных рисков и трансграничных спилловер-эффектов в условиях глобальной нестабильности.
